On Monday, White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows voiced his optimism that President Trump will be able to return to the White House on Monday after spending several days at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center being treated for coronavirus.

He added that Trump's health improved overnight and the president is ready to get back “to a normal working schedule.”

He added that the president will meet with his doctors and nurses this morning to make further assessments of his progress.

"His treatment has been remarkable," Meadows said. "His strength has been incredible."

The president has received doses of Remdesivir so far, an anti-viral drug that has been approved by the FDA to help treat the coronavirus.

Trump was seen in a car outside Walter Reed where he was receiving medical care after testing positive for Covid-19.

Trump’s departure came after a tweet in which he promised his supporters outside Walter Reed Hospital in Maryland to make a “surprise visit.”

The US president said: “I learned a lot about Covid-19 and became I understood it through my own experience,” referring to his infection with the disease.

“This is the real school,” he added. “It can not be realized by saying, ‘Let’s read these books,’ I understood it and understood it, it is really interesting.”

The White House has confirmed that the President will return to the hospital after his rapid tour in front of his supporters.
