The US Embassy in Cairo announced on Thursday that US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken will visit Egypt on Sunday where he will be received by President Sisi.
The US embassy stated - on its Facebook page - that Foreign Minister Blinken will also meet during the visit with Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and a number of senior Egyptian officials to discuss the strategic partnership between the two countries and enhance security and peace in the region.
Next Monday, Sameh Shoukry will hold a joint press conference with his US counterpart at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Blinken's visit to Egypt is part of a tour of the region that also includes Israel and the West Bank.
