On Monday, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin arrived in Georgia on an official visit, as part of his tour in the Black Sea region to strengthen alliances with countries in the region, Radio France International reported.
US Defense Department spokesman John Kirby announced that US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin will visit Ukraine this week as part of a European tour that is currently being prepared by the Pentagon.
"The minister and his team are preparing for a trip to Europe next week," Kirby said in a press statement, according to Ukraine's Ukrinform news agency.
The tour will include Georgia, Ukraine and Romania, Austin will conclude the European tour with allies and partners in Brussels to attend the NATO Defense Ministers' meeting.
