The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) announced that the number of refugees has exceeded 6 million since the start of the Russian military operation in Ukraine on February 24.
According to the data published on the UNHCR portal, from February 24 to May 11, 6 million and 29 thousand people left the territory of Ukraine, including 3.2 million refugees who went to Poland, more than 895,000 to Romania, more than 785,000 to Russia, and more than 583.000 to Hungary.
UNHCR indicated that more than 900,000 refugees went to Moldova, Slovakia and Belarus.
