On Tuesday, the United Nations (UN) strongly denounced the attempt to target the Saudi capital, Riyadh, last Saturday.

In a press statement, Stéphane Dujarric, Spokesman for the UN Secretary-General said, "We are aware of those reports that Saudi forces intercepted an air attack that targeted the capital, Riyadh."

"We strongly condemn all attacks targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure, and we remind all parties of the need to comply with international humanitarian law, including taking steps to protect civilians," Dujarric added.

He stressed the need to "thoroughly investigate all possible violations of international humanitarian law, and hold those responsible accountable."

On Saturday, the Arab coalition intercepted and destroyed a rocket launched by the Houthi militia toward Riyadh.
