NEW YORK, JULY 21 (SEE) According to a UN report issued on Saturday, Cairo has been ranked first among the most attractive cities for investment in Africa and 64th around the world, ahead of South Africa's Johannesburg and Morocco's Tangier.

The report, titled "The State of African Cities 2018: the geography of African investments," was based on the United Nations estimates of foreign investments between 2013 and 2016.

It pointed out that Cairo topped the list of the best African cities in attracting investments due to the concentration of a large and perse labor force, as well as the availability of managerial competencies compared to African countries.

The report added that Alexandria was ranked second in Egypt's most attractive cities to investment, and 23rd on the African list, behind cities such as Djibouti and Tete.

Cairo was able to attract investments worth $ 13.7 billion between 2013 and 2016 compared to Johannesburg's $ 13.2 billion.

$ 10.5 billion were invested in Tangier, $ 2.5 billion in Alexandria, and $ 1 billion in Sharm El Sheikh.
