Ukrainian President Imposes Sanctions against Putin

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a decree imposing sanctions against Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to Russia Today.

The decree included the announcement of the sanctions, and was posted on the website of the President of Ukraine.

The Ukrainian president also imposed sanctions on the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, and Deputy Prime Ministers Andrei Belousov and Tatyana Golikova.

Earlier, The Russian presidency (the Kremlin) announced that the Ukrainian side has get out of the negotiation track, and therefore there is no need to talk about the possibility of preparing for a meeting between Presidents Vladimir Putin and Vladimir Zelensky.

In response to a question about the importance of the meeting between Putin and Zelensky, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, “Our position is very clear. Any meeting at the highest level must be well-prepared.”

Peskov added: “The Ukrainian side has get out of the negotiation track, and therefore there is no need to talk about the possibility of preparing for such a meeting. ”

In the same context, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said in a press statement Wednesday, that Russia records all war crimes committed by the Ukrainian army, and all perpetrators will be held accountable.

Zakharova noted that Ukrainian forces continue to bombard residential communities in Donbass and use civilians as human shields, according to the Russian TASS agency.
