UK announced that it will provide Ukraine with multiple launch missile systems that can hit targets 80 kilometers away, in a move that came in coordination with the United States (US), in response to Russian military operations in Ukraine.

"The missile batch will be sent to Ukraine in coordination with Washington," UK Defense Secretary Ben Wallace said, adding: "The new missile batch will help the Ukrainians defend themselves."

Last week, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky discussed with UK Prime Minister (PM) Boris Johnson strengthening defense support for Ukraine and ending the blockade of Ukrainian ports.

“As part of the regular dialogue, I had another phone conversation with Boris Johnson. We talked about strengthening defense support for Ukraine, intensifying work on security guarantees, and supplying fuel to Ukraine. ” Zelensky tweeted.

“We must work together to prevent a food crisis and unblock Ukrainian ports,” he added.

It is worth mentioning that, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) announced that at least 4074 Ukrainian civilians have been killed and 4826 others have been injured since the start of the Russian invasion.

In a statement, the UN office stated that most of the recorded civilian casualties resulted from the use of explosive weapons with a wide-area effect, including heavy artillery, multiple-launch missile systems, missile, and airstrikes.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister (FM) Sergey Lavrov stressed, on Monday, that Moscow will not set artificial timetables in order to complete its “special military operation”, launched in Ukraine on February 24, by Victory Day on May 9.

In press remarks, Lavrov reiterated that the operation aims to “ensure the safety of civilians and make sure that there are no threats from Ukraine to civilians and Russia,” adding that the operational pace depends on the need to mitigate risks for civilians and Russian troops.
