A jet from the UAE has been flown to Sudan with more than 350 tonnes of food and medical supplies, the National reported.
The shipment will assist thousands of individuals who have been impacted and displaced as a result of tribal warfare in the states of Darfur.
The Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation provided 4.5 tonnes of medications and 380 tonnes of basic food items in accordance with President Sheikh Mohamed’s orders.
Along with personal care supplies, the food help included staples including rice, wheat, sugar, milk, tea, and lentils.
Eight wells are being drilled to obtain drinkable water, in addition to providing food and medical aid – four in east Darfur and four in west Darfur.
The foundation declared that it will carry on supplying aid to Sudan under the direction of UAE leadership in an effort to reaffirm the close and illustrious ties between the two nations.
