United Arab of Emirates (UAE) has announced on Tuesday the registration of 462 new coronavirus cases during the last 24 hours, raising the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 15,192.

In an official statement, the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) added that nine more deaths from the novel virus have been also confirmed, taking the country’s death toll to 146.

The ministry expressed sincere condolences to the families of the deceased and wished a speedy recovery to all patients, calling on the public to cooperate with health authorities and comply with all precautionary measures, particularly social distancing protocols, to ensure the safety and protection of the public.

It is worth mentioning that, UAE, and several Arab countries have tightened restrictions on movement and travel, with the aim of curbing the spread of the Coronavirus, and some have pledged billions of dollars in economic stimulus programs to reduce the economic repercussions of the crisis.

People across the globe partake in self-isolation as an effective precautionary measure to protect those around them and themselves from contracting COVID-19.

Transmission of the virus between humans happens when someone comes into contact with an infected person’s secretions, such as droplets in a cough.

It can also be transmitted by coming into contact with something an infected person has touched and then touching your mouth, nose, or eyes.
