The United Arab Emirates cabinet approved on Sunday afternoon the opening of a UAE embassy in Israel's Tel Aviv.
The country normalized relations with Israel in September last year in the presence of former US President Donald Trump.

"The Biden administration is now willing to work closely with Israel on regional security issues and build on the country's regional normalization agreements," White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan told his Israeli counterpart.
"They discussed opportunities to enhance the partnership over the coming months, by building on the success of Israel's normalization arrangements with UAE, Bahrain, Sudan, and Morocco," Sullivan said.
"Sullivan also extended an invitation to begin a strategic dialogue in the near term," the statement added.
On the other hand, the United Arab Emirates stated that further 179,117 COVID-19 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours, revealing 3,579 new cases, 4,166 recoveries and 9 death cases.
