U.S. Department of State called on Iran to refrain from any steps that would harm the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) pledges.

In press statements, state department spokesman Ned Price said that Secretary of state Antony Blenkin will discuss Iran with his German, French, and British counterparts tomorrow.

Earlier, Tehran said it will start banning short-notice inspections by the U.N. nuclear watchdog, according to Reuters.

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said on Tuesday that “the path to diplomacy is now open” with Iran over the 2015 nuclear deal, without mentioning any direct engagement with Iranian officials.

“The road to diplomacy is now open. Iran is still far from complying with the deal. So we have to see what it’s going to do,” Blinken told National Public Radio.

Blinken referred to U.S. President Joe Biden’s public position on the deal, saying ‘if Iran resumed compliance with the 2015 nuclear deal, the US would as well.'

“The president has been very clear publicly, time and time again, about our position. We will see Iran’s reaction” he said.

In 2018, former U.S. President Donald Trump withdrew from the nuclear deal, which had curbed Iran’s activity to enrich uranium to develop nuclear weapons, in exchange for relief from US sanctions
