The Iraqi military announced on Monday that two Katyusha rockets fell late Sunday on Baghdad's Jadiriya area, near the heavily fortified Green Zone, without causing any casualties.

In an official statement, the military said that one of the rockets landed near the Babylon hotel, which is used by Iraqi travelers and sometimes for government meetings, according to Reuters.

The Iraqi military blamed “terrorist groups” for the attack and said the rockets were fired from an area in the western part of the capital.

Earlier, Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi officially declared the intentions of a number of countries, primarily the US, to close their diplomatic missions in the Iraqi capital if rocket attacks on the so-called green zone,  a location of government buildings and embassies, continued, according to Sputnik News Agency.

According to Al-Kadhimi, western diplomats said that such a position was not aimed at Baghdad, but were due to security concerns.
