2 Civilians Injured in Afghan Capital Bomb Blast

Two civilians were injured when a mine exploded on the side of a road in the Afghan capital, Kabul, Monday.

Police confirmed the explosion, saying that the mine was targeting passers-by in Police District No. 12 in Kabul. It pointed out that the target of this explosion is still unknown, according to Khaama Press News Agency.

Meanwhile, Afghan officials announced, in a statement to the media, that a member of the security forces had been killed in a clash with the Taliban in Pagman district.

Health officials confirmed that at least four civilians were killed and 34 wounded in a car bomb explosion last night in the Maiwand district of Kandahar province. They included policemen and civilians; some of the civilians were women and children.

Meanwhile, the Afghan Ministry of Defense announced the killing of nine Taliban militants in mutual attacks and an air raid in Balkh province, on Monday, in a security operation for the Afghan National Army to control many Taliban strongholds.
