A “Real Steel” series adaptation is in the early stages of development at Disney +.

The potential series would be based on the 2011 movie of the same name, which itself was based on the short story “Steel” by Richard Matheson.

The movie was centered around Charlie Kenton (Hugh Jackman) a washed-up boxer who reconnects with his estranged son (Dakota Goyo) as they build and train a fighting robot to fight in the World Robot Boxing championship.

"Real Steel" also starred Anthony Mackie, Evangeline Lilly, Hope Davis, and others.

Levy’s company 21 Laps' credits include Disney's "Free Guy", which was the top-grossing original hit of the pandemic era, allocating $331 million globally.
