The data of the Turkish Ministry of Health showed that the number of deaths due to the coronavirus  (COVID-19) in the country reached 174 cases in the past 24 hours.

The data showed that Turkey recorded 29,132 new cases of coronavirus, including those that did not show symptoms.

The Turkish Ministry of Health stated that the total number of infections in Turkey reached 475 thousand cases, while the total number of deaths due to disease reached 13,14 cases, since the outbreak of the epidemic in the country.

Turkish Health Minister Fakhruddin Kujah announced that his country had signed a contract to buy 50 million doses of the Chinese company "Sinovac" vaccine against the Coronavirus.

He added, during a press conference yesterday, that his ministry intends to import 50 million doses of vaccine in December, January, and February.

He indicated that Turkey is in contact with other Coronavirus vaccine producers as well, stressing that it is important for Turkey to start using vaccines that are effective and safe.

The minister affirmed that the vaccination campaign may start in Turkey on December 11th.

On his side, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that the home-made Corona vaccine has reached an advanced stage and that the authorities aim to make it available for use next April at the latest.

Erdogan confirmed, in a speech during a meeting of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) parliamentary bloc, yesterday that his government seeks to present the Corona vaccine that experts developed to all humanity.

A few days ago, the President of the Turkish University of Erciyes, Mustafa Chalish, announced that the number of volunteers to test the locally developed "ERUCOV-VAC" vaccine to combat the Coronavirus reached 44 people, stressing that no side effects appeared on them.

Erdogan had confirmed at the end of last October that his country was seeking to develop a vaccine against the Coronavirus of its own and start using it next spring.
