On Friday, Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel teased that he may stay with the Bundesliga giants beyond the season, as the German giants' coaching search is still in progress.
Bayern targeted Ralf Rangnick, however, he said, Thursday, that he would stay with Austria. Rangnick was among the reported other candidates including Bayer Leverkusen's Xabi Alonso and Germany manager Julian Nagelsmann who declined the club's offers.
Tuchel and Bayern agreed to part ways at the end of the season due to the latest questioned performance of the German club team, especially after losing the title of the Bundesliga to the skyrocket rising Xabi Alonso's Bayern Leverkusen.
Tuchel, who won the Champions League as Chelsea coach in 2021, led Bayern through to the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League this season, having a 2-2 draw with the Spanish giants Real Madrid on Wednesday in the first leg in Munich.
Tuchel said before tomorrow's game against Stuttgart: "Everything is possible," but added "the agreement (to leave in summer) still stands."
He was also asked if managing the German giants was no longer the attraction it once was given the number of high-profile rejections, Tuchel disagreed.
"It was attractive enough for me, otherwise I don't want to say too much as I'm the coach right now -- and we've got attractive tasks ahead of us."
