Truth about Menna Shalaby Participating in Film “Kira & El Gin”

The audience is always in a rush to know the making of any film, or TV series production, or reimage a design of the film, which is the case with Egyptian actress Menna Shalaby.

Someone has created a fan-made poster for the film “Kira & El Gin” and shared it on social media, raising the speculation that it is the film's official poster, which features the actors participating in the film.

Shalaby took to Twitter to denies the speculation, saying: "This is not true, I am not in the film. I love everyone in it."

“Kira & El Gin” is an adapted from Egyptian historical fiction novel “1919” by brilliant scriptwriter Ahmed Mourad.

The film is directed by Marwan Hamed and starring Ahmed Ezz and Karim Abdel Aziz Ruby, Hend Sabry, Sayed Ragab, and others.

It is produced by Synergy films. The “1919” is a thought-provoking, fast-paced, information-packed historical fiction set to the actual events of a significant era in Egypt’s history.

On the other hand, Shalaby and prominent Egyptian actor Mohamed Henedy are collaborating on the big screen for the first time.

The pair are set to star in film “Al Ens w el Nems”, which will be directed by Sherif Arafa.

They took to their social media accounts, respectively, to unveil their news along with a photo from the behind-the-scenes.

The film also witnesses the second collaboration between Henedy and Arafa. They worked together for the first time in the 2004 film “fool el seen el azeem”.

The shooting took place amid all necessary precautions taken against the Coronavirus, along with continuously sterilizing the shooting set.

The filmmakers are keen during the current period to prepare all the requirements, to ensure the safety of the cast on the one hand, and to complete filming as soon as possible and in the perfect image on the other.

It is worth mentioning that Shalaby, born on July 24, 1981, is the daughter of former belly dancer and actress Zizi Mustafa.

She showed passion for acting from a very early age, no doubt due to the exposure to the industry her mother’s fame provided.

Shalaby made her film debut in “Al Saher” (The Magician) as Nour in 2001. She scored her next role alongside prominent actress Layla Elwy in 2004 film “Baheb El Seema”.

Since then, she co-starred with many talented actors and directors, such as renowned director Youssef Chahine in film “Heya Fawda” (2007), Ahmed Abdallah in film “Microphone” (2010) and Yousry Nasrallah in film “Baad el Mawkeaa” (2012) about the infamous Battle of the Camel during the January 25 uprising.

She is known for her roles in 2011 film “Ezaet Hob”, in 2011 film “Bebo we Basher”, in 2010 film “Nour Einy”, in 2006 film “Ouija”, in 2006 film “An El Eshq Wel Hawa”, in 2005 film “Banat West El balad”, in 2004 film “Enta omry”, in 2004 film “Baheb El Cima”, in 2015 TV series “Nyran Sadeeqa”, and in 2002 “Ayna qalbi”.

Shalaby is one of the brightest actresses among the younger generation of Egyptian stars.
