Under the auspices of PM Mostafa Madbouly, Inas Abdel-Dayem, the Minister of Culture, Khaled Enany, Minister of Tourism, and General Tariq Al Faqi, Sohag Governor, are launching the first edition of the Abydos Music and Song festival in Sohag.
The event is held by the Egyptian Opera house headed by Dr. Magdy Saber from 10 until March 12.
Abdel-Dayem stressed that the banners of enlightenment include all parts of Egypt as one of the components of development that enhances human structure.
She added that the Abydos Music and Song festival is the one of its kind in Sohag and comes as a model for fruitful cooperation between state institutions with the aim of consolidating the role of soft forces in developing society and reshaping awareness.
On the importance of the role of culture and arts in promoting Egyptian civilizations, she pointed out that her Ministry will continue updating plans to achieve cultural justice among the people of Egypt.
Khaled Enany, Minister of Tourism congratulated the minister of culture and people in Sohag for launching the first edition of the Abydos Music and Song festival.
The minister praised the constructive and fruitful cooperation with the Ministry of culture and the government, which succeeded in restoring and resuming distinguished cultural and artistic forums.
He expressed his confidence in the impact of these events positively affect the Sohag's tourist status, stressing that cultural activities in archaeological sites, especially in Upper Egypt, highlight the civilized face of Egypt and its ancient heritage and work to attract people's interest in art and creativity.
It also increases their cultural and civilizational awareness and passion for fine art, which is one of the objectives of the Ministry of Tourism's Strategy and Impacts for Sustainable Development 2030.
The strategy includes a special focus on enhancing community participation and human resources by integrating and involving local communities in the sustainable development process, investing in people and building their creative capabilities.
The program of the first edition activities of the Abydos Music and Song festival includes 3 concerts, which will be performed in a row by the stars Hisham Abbas, Ali El Haggar, and Medhat Saleh, accompanied by the famous pianist Amr Salim and his band.
