The Roman theater of Alexandria is one of the best-preserved Greco-Roman theaters. It was the Roman Empire’s biggest theater in Africa at that time, of which only several columns and a colossal base remain.

Smaller than the theater, the Sawary site, also known as Pompey's Pillar is the second attraction of the site. Together they form an extremely impressive archaeological ensemble that would make the cities of Athens and Rome blush!
