Theater Curtains Reopen

The Minister of Culture approves 30 theatrical performances, to be presented in 84 nights during the summer

Culture Minister: The performances of the cultural production sector begin in the open places and closed theaters on the second day of Eid al-Adha.

Dr. Enas Abdel Dayem, Minister of Culture, approved the plan for the return of theatrical activity, which includes 30 different theatrical works in 84 nights.

The shows are organized by the cultural production sector, headed by artist Khaled Jalal.

The resumption of the performances has two phases, starting on Sunday evening, 12th July at the courtyard of "Al - Hanager Center for Arts" in the opera house. The second phase starts on the second day of the Eid Al-Adha next August with the return of the activities of all state theaters.

The artist Ismail Mukhtar, head of the artistic house of the theater, said that selections of distinctive performances have been prepared. They will be presented at Al - Hanager Center Theater, starting on Thursday, 16 July by presenting "Al- Lila Al Kabira".

"Mahal El Leab" will be displayed on Monday and Tuesday, 17 and 18 August.

Mukhtar said that the open theater of the opera house will host two performances produced by Al-Taleea Theater, -"The ring and the bracelet" on Sunday, 26 July and "The gelatinous biography" on Monday, 10 August.

Mukhtar added that "Laugh-Think-Know" initiative, displayed on the Ministry of Culture channel, is ongoing and it includes the plays of famous celebrities, in addition to the new shows that will be presented on July - online shows including the treasures and heritage of theatrical works.

He stressed on the ministry commitment to apply all precautionary and preventive measures, with daily sterilization of the theaters in order to ensure the safety of the public, artists and workers.

He added that "Al-Nafourah theater" will present in Cairo opera house presents "Cinema misr show"; it was produced by the Cultural Development Fund, headed by Dr. Fathi Abdel-Wahab, and "Youth championship" for the second batch of talented students studio of the Artistic Creativity Center.

He stated that the second stage of the return of the shows will take place over three days per week alternately between the theaters of " the artistic house of the theater" including the play "Be Optimistic" for the National Theater; its starred by Sameh Hussein and directed by Islam Imam on Thursday, Friday and Sunday.

- The Youth Theater Ensemble will presents "Al-Bakhil" on Opera Malak Theater on Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays, "Afrah Al Koba" on Al Ayem theater in El-Manyal on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

- The National Children's Theater Ensemble will present "Cats, Araguz Tales" at the Metropole Theater in Al-Ataba on Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays.

-Cairo puppets theater will present the playes; "Farkash Lashkash,"Egypt Station", "The Beautiful Time Journey" on Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays.

-The Modern Theater Ensemble will present "My Father Under the Tree" at Al-Salam Theater on Kasr Al-Aini Street on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

-Al-Taleea Theater group will present "Harem Al-Nar", " at Zaki Tulaimat hall on Thursdays, Saturday and Monday, and the shows "As if you see him", Noah Al-Hamam" in Salah Abdel-Sabour hall on Friday, Sunday and Wednesday.

- Alexandria Theater Ensemble will present "Happy trip" play at Bayram Al tounsy Theater on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and will host the activities of "The Egyptian Author's Forum" from the 20th August until the 24th of October .

- The Art House for Folk and Performing Arts, headed by artist Adel Abdo, on Al Hanager Square theater, will present shows for the troupes: "Reda folklore group", "Youth tunes" and "The national folklore troupe" along with the shows of the National Circus- launched at the beginning of this month.

Al Balloon Theater will resume its performances starting from Sunday, 10 July.
