A few hours ago, The Rock appeared during the latest episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown. He made his appearance during the segment between Roman Reigns, the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion and The Rock's cousin, and 2024 30-Man Royal Rumble Winner Cody Rhodes.
The Rock made his return amid the speculations of a potential match against his cousin, who is currently the Tribal Chief and the Head of the Table for the family (The Rock, and Reigns' family) in the WWE.
It seemed that The Rock's appearance was to lay the groundwork for a showdown at WrestleMania.
Before the appearance of The Rock, Rhodes was about the make his decision (the winner of the Royal Rumble match has the right to choose to have a world title shot for any of the promotion's world titles) about facing Reigns or Seth Rollins, the WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

Rhodes said that he wanted to face Reigns but added that this wouldn't be at WrestleMania, and then the Rock came out to a thunderous ovation.
The Rock shook hands with Rhodes, who left the ring.
The Rock and Reigns then stared each other down as the show went to black.
Last month, The Rock made an appearance at RAW Day 1, and cut a promo, mentioning "The Head of the Table" which is one of the titles of Reigns.
Two years ago, the match between The Rock and Reigns was speculated to take place at WrestleMania. It was so close to being added for WrestleMania 39 in Hollywood, but it was dropped.
It seems that the match is happening in the forthcoming WrestleMania, WM 40, next April.
