The bissara dish is one of the delicious Egyptian summer cuisines that can be eaten during the day, whether for lunch or supper.
Egyptian engineer and food blogger Ameera Aboulseoud shared with “SEENews” directions on how to prepare and cook the recipe.
How to prepare bissara
Rinse the crushed fava beans cup several times with water to clean them.
Put it in a pot on fire, then add 3 cups of water, onion, and two spoons of chopped garlic. Leave the beans for ten minutes.
In the meantime, add a parsley pack and two of coriander to a blender, along with the previous ingredients and a cup of water until the ingredients soften completely.
Place the beans and the beaten vegetables in the pot on fire, and then add the salt, pepper, and cumin.
Put a large spoon of ghee In a pan, then fry an onion chopped into small pieces with a large spoonful of minced garlic.
Continue to stir the garlic with the onions over high heat until it turns golden brown, then add dry coriander, hot pepper crushed, and a large spoonful of dry mint. Let them simmer for a minute and turn off the burner.
Set the beans with the vegetables and then add some of the fried onion on the burner, and then stir it on the fire for two minutes.
Put bissara in the serving dish and decorate it with the remaining fried onion.
