SEE – JULY 9: ABC NEWS quoted physicians that the soccer team members who were rescued from a cave after being trapped their for weeks, might face psychological disorder.

Dr. Andrew Adesman, chief of developmental pediatrics at Cohen Children's Medical Center in New Hyde Park, New York, said that a threat of post-traumatic stress (PTSD) follows a protracted trauma.

Parents and health professionals need to be familiar with the symptoms of the PTSD including nightmares, flashbacks, concentration problems, and impulsive or aggressive behavior, he pointed.

If the boys show any of these symptoms, Dr. Adisman suggests that the best treatment is a form of psychotherapy called trauma focused behavioral therapy. The treatment involves a psychologist in addition to mental health professionals who wok with teens facing this trauma.

Rescuing team carried out 6 of the 12 trapped kids and their coach after hours of the first risky mission. Thai officials said the rescue mission which started on Sunday morning is expected to last for 4 days.
