Tens of thousands of people in the United States of America (USA) are preparing to take part in a nationwide strike on July 20th. The strike aims at drawing attention to the country's racist problems.

Informed sources said that this protest event was organized, under the title "Strike for the Life of Blacks", by a coalition of unions and non-profit human rights organizations.

It is expected that tens of thousands of workers in fast food restaurants, nursing homes and airports in 25 American cities will not go to work on July 20.

According to those sources, employees who will not be able to strike for a full working day will support the measure by stopping performing their professional duties for 8 minutes, the time the police officer in Minneapolis pressed his knee on the neck of the African American, George Floyd, which led to his death While trying to hold him.

In addition, strikers in a number of cities organize rallies to commemorate the victims of police abuse.

" Ash Lee Woodard Henderson, one of the organizers of the strike, said the strength of companies is a threat to ethnic justice and the only way to correct this situation is to fight those who are not fully committed to fighting racism.

The sources indicated that the protesters would also be required to secure better working conditions for low-wage workers and provide affordable health insurance for them.

Days earlier, US President Donald Trump threatened to censor or even shut down social media platforms, after Twitter indicated that two of his tweets were unfounded.

Trump wrote on Twitter today, Wednesday, that the Republicans feel that social media platforms are completely silencing the voices of conservatives in the US politics.

"We will be organizing or closing them aggressively, before we allow this to happen. We saw what they tried to do and failed in 2016," Trump said in reference to the alleged intervention attempts in the American presidential elections.

He added: "Clean up your behavior, now."

This came after Twitter accused on Tuesday for the first time, Trump of providing false information in two tweets in which the president wrote and without providing evidence. He claimed that voting by mail will necessarily lead to fraud and fraudulent elections.
