The Syrian government raised the price of subsidized gasoline (via the electronic card) by about 46% to reach 1,100 liras, up from SYP 750.

The ministry indicated that the implementation of the decision will start on Sunday, Dec, 12.

The ministry said that this measure comes with the aim of "reducing the huge losses in the oil subsidiary budget and to ensure that the gasoline is not interrupted or lacking in availability."

The ministry had raised the selling price of diesel and octane 90 gasoline, distributed outside the allocations and via the electronic card for machines and vehicles, by SYP 1,700 Syrian, while octane 90 gasoline at SYP 2500.
