Anonymous Singer to Open Up AFCON... Official Song in 3 Languages

Director of this year's African Cup of Nations (AFCON) Mohamed Fadl announced that the opening ceremony for the prestigious event, held next Friday will be in three languages, which are Arabic, English and French.

Fadl stated on the Energy FM Broadcast, that the Arabic version of the song will be sung by an iconic Egyptian singer, without revealing his name. He also stated that the opening theme will be sung by a Nigerian singer, a Senegalese singer and the aforementioned Arabic one.

The 2019 Africa Cup of Nations is scheduled to be the 32nd edition of the Africa Cup of Nations. The tournament was initially scheduled to be hosted by Cameroon. Cameroon would have hosted the competition for the first time since 1972.

They were also the title holders after winning the previous edition but was stripped of hosting the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations due to delays in renovating infrastructure, the Boko Haram insurgency and the Anglophone Crisis.

On 8 January 2019, Egypt was chosen by the CAF Executive Committee as the host nation of AFCON.
