Supreme Council of Culture to Resume Activities on 9 July

Dr. Enas Abdel Dayem, Minister of Culture, will launch a program to operate the activity of the Supreme Council of Culture – headed by Dr. Hisham Azmy in July, August, and September, starting from Thursday, 9 July.

Dr. Azmy explained that the intellectual and cultural activities of the Supreme Council of Culture will be resumed with the attendance of a maximum of 20 inpiduals, according to the precautionary measures approved by the state to limit the spread of Coronavirus.

The activities will be recorded and broadcast on the Council’s YouTube channel after its completion.

Azmy added that the program of the Online Culture Initiative continues with organizing more specialized separate lectures provided by specialists - accompanied by sign language translation - every Wednesday in addition to series of seminars as the following:-

- “Read with us” series - with Egyptian and Arab contributions for an elite group of creators; it will be broadcast on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.

-“Every Day a Poet” series; will be broadcast on Saturdays, Mondays, and Wednesdays.

- A series of documentary films about the pioneers of Fine Art and Architecture; it will be broadcast on Mondays and Wednesdays.

It is noteworthy that the activities of the Supreme Council of Culture will include a number of seminars and intellectual evenings, discussing a group of contemporary issues such as:

-“Bullying... Has it become a phenomenon in Egyptian society?”; it will be broadcast on Thursday, 9 July.

-“The Orientalism of future jobs and the role of emerging technology”; it will be broadcast on Thursday 16 July.

- “The role of the inpidual in supporting the state and its institutions in the crises … the current crisis is a model”. This will be on Wednesday, 22 July.

- “The effect of digital culture on the educational system and the culture of the Egyptian child”. This will be on Thursday, 30 July.

As for the August program, it includes literary evenings dealing with "Egypt after Corona, its social and psychological effects" on Monday, 10 August.

- “Digital transformation and digital culture ... legal challenges” on 13 August.

-“The role of the symbol in the young people live ... between family and social media” on Monday, 17 August.

-“The role of the post-Corona media” on Monday, 20 August.

- “The impact of digital culture on college education” on Monday, 27 August.

As for the September program, it includes seminars that discuss post-Corona issues such as:

-“Political and economic effects, changes and trends, the labor market” on the first Tuesday of September.

-“Rumors and their negative effects politically and economically” on Sunday 6 September.

- “Egypt's vision 2030 and the role of the ordinary citizen” on Sunday 13 September.

-“The History of Egypt and its effects on Sunday, 20 September.

-“The special needs and the digital Gap” on Thursday, 24 September.

-“Education beyond Corona” on Tuesday, 29 September.
