A month after it was officially inaugurated in August 30, the temporary antiquities exhibition "Sun Kings" in the Czech capital Prague registered more than 20,000 visitors in October.

Ahmed Rahima, Assistant Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for Human Resources Development, says that the exhibition witnesses a huge turnout from different age groups throughout the week, especially during weekends and official holidays.

Rahima added that the average visits weekly rate is over 1,500 visitors, pointing that last week witnessed an unprecedented turnout despite poor and volatile weather conditions; as the exhibition recorded 2000 visitors during the weekend.

The "Sun Kings" exhibition was inaugurated on August 30 by Khaled Al Anani, Egypt's Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis, and Czech Minister of Culture, Lubomir Zaoralek, in conjunction with the 60th anniversary of the Czech archaeological mission excavations in Abu Sir, Egypt, so that visitors have a small glimpse of the Egyptian civilization, which should encourage them to visit Egypt to see more of its monuments and enjoy its picturesque beaches.

It is worth mentioning that the exhibit includes 90 antiques belonging to the Czech mission's excavations in the Archaeological Zone of Abu Sir.

Amongst antiques displayed is the head of King "Raa-Nefer-Ef" statue along with a group of statues from the ancient Kingdom, including a statue of a writer, statues of senior statesmen and officials, and a group of Canopic vessels, in addition to ten Ushabti statues of faience.

The "Sun Kings" exhibition is scheduled to last for six months.
