Sudanese Leather to Be Manufactured in Roubiki

Member of the Sudanese Egyptian Business Council Mohamed Harbi announced on Sunday that more opportunities for commercial and investment cooperation between Egyptian and Sudanese businessmen will be there as Sudanese leather will be manufactured in the Egyptian city of Roubiki.

He pointed out that the Egyptian-Sudanese relations are witnessing positive developments at the political and economic level, based on the mutual benefit between the two sides.

In press statements, Harbi added that in the leather sector, it is suggested that leather will be brought from Sudan, to Egyptian companies operating in the city of leather in Roubiki, before it gets re-exported again.

Last Thursday, the members of the Egyptian-Sudanese Joint Business Council held a preparatory session via "video conference" for all members who went to Sudan, and those who were unable to attend. They discussed the necessary arrangements in preparation for the meetings that are scheduled to take place tomorrow and until the end of the visit of the Egyptian delegation. It is scheduled to discuss the investment opportunities available between the two sides.

A delegation chaired by Nevin Jameh, Minister of Trade and Industry, headed to Sudan on Sunday.

During the meetings that she held upon her arrival, Jameh confirmed Egypt's full economic support for Sudan during the transitional period. She noted that the Egyptian business community welcomes to enter into partnerships with its Sudanese counterpart, in accordance with the industrial and infrastructure projects that Sudan targets during the coming period.

Jameh held an extended session of talks with each of Sudanese Trade and Industry Minister Madani Abbas Madani, and Minister of Infrastructure and Transportation Hashim Muhammad bin Auf. They discussed the future of economic cooperation between the two countries and the latest developments in joint work in the commercial and industrial sectors as well as in the fields of transport.

The talks were participated by Egypt's Ambassador to Sudan Hossam Eissa, and Head of Egyptian Commercial Service Ahmed Maghawry.
