Student’s Body Recovered from Nile River

Security bodies of Giza Security Directorate found the body of Shahd Ahmed, a student at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Suez Canal University, in the Nile River in Warraq district.

Investigations pointed out that Ahmed Kamal Hussein Mohamed, the father of the student, who works as a teacher in El-Arish city in North Sinai, filed a police report on the absence of his daughter, pointing out that after leaving the university last Wednesday, she did not return to her temporary residence in Ismailia.

The body of the 20- year-old student was transferred to Imbaba public hospital and after the medical examination, the health inspector stated that the cause of death is confirmed as drowning while there is no criminal suspicion in the death.

The investigations also revealed that on Friday, the father of the student identified the body of his daughter,  who was suffering from obsessive-compulsive disorder and was being treated by a psychiatrist in Ismailia.

A security source at Giza Security Directorate confirmed that there are no apparent injuries in the body of the student, while the preliminary investigations indicate that she committed suicide.
