Sports Min.: Cairo Stadium Ready for Hosting CAF CL Final

Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhi affirmed, Saturday, on the readiness of Cairo International Stadium to host the final of the CAF Champions League's Final match, promising that it will come out in the best organizational form.

Sobhi confirmed that this would be an extension of the series of successes achieved by the Egyptian state in terms of hosting and organizing sports tournaments and major international events, thanks to the unity of all concerned parties.

The minister was keen to attend the 2nd Leg match of Al Ahly and Morrocco's Wydad, Friday, in the semi-finals of the CAF Champions League held at Cairo International Stadium, which ended with the Red Devils' victory 3-1, thus qualifying for the tournament final.

The minister also affirmed his support for the three knights, (Al Ahly- Zamalek SC- Pyramids FC), participating in the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup, expressing his confidence in the players’ performance and their ability to win due to the remarkable technical development in their performance, which resulted from the resumption of the Egyptian Premier League following the Corona pandemic pause.

He pointed out that he will be keen to attend the Zamalek SC encounter against Moroccan Raja at Cairo Stadium scheduled on November 1 in the semi-finals second leg of the CAF Champions League, wishing Zamalek to qualify for the tournament final to guarantee Egypt the title of the current version of the largest championship at the level of African clubs in football, as a new achievement to be added to the Egyptian sports record.

He also expressed his sincere wishes for Pyramids FC to win the final match of the Confederation Cup against the Moroccan RS Berkane, scheduled, Sunday, and to return from Morocco safely with the championship cup.
