Spanish Football League Network’s Delegate in Egypt Visits SEE Headquarters

CAIRO, Jan. 29 (SEE) - SEE News’ Editor-in-Chief Safaa Nawar and Editing Manager Mohamed Wadie received on Monday Juan Fuentes Fernández, La Liga (the Spanish Football League) Global Network Egypt’s Delegate at SEE News’ headquarter.

Fernández’s visit to SEE came under the umbrella of La Liga’s Representation in Egypt interactive cooperation with the Egyptian media institutions.

The Representation is also cooperating with Egyptian academic institutions for the Egyptian students, especially those who study Spanish language and culture, to know profoundly about La Liga and its teams.

It plans to collaborate with the following universities: Ain Shames, 6th of October, Kafr Ek-Sheikh, and Menya.

In this regard, Fernández spoke about his visit to the Faculty of Al-Alsun at Ain Shames University saying, “I was fascinated by how students and even female ones were eager to know about the Spanish League.”

Worth noting is that La Liga’s presence in Egypt is not only keen on the sports side, but also on merging sports with culture.

So the Representation is collaborating with the Spanish Embassy and the Cultural Attaché in Cairo to celebrate events that introduce the Spanish Football League’s teams, the culture, art, and culinary of the cities to which these teams are affiliated.

During the meeting, Fernández revealed the projects that La Liga is developing in Egypt including a football academy.

Humanitarian activities to develop communitarian values are amongst the proprieties of La Liga’s Representation in Egypt.

The good news is that the Representation is not only focusing on Cairo, but it is paying attention to Egypt’s other areas such as Upper Egypt.

Fernández also spoke about La Liga’s projects across the world including South Africa and Singapore. He also mentioned an agreement between La Liga and the USA for the later to host some of the former’s matches.

In addition, he mentioned that La Liga is aiming at introducing for persons with disabilities a special league that will be the first of its kind in Europe.

He further clarified that the Spanish Football League is administrated by La Liga, on the other side; the Spanish Football Federation directs the Spanish Football National Team’s affairs.
