South Korea’s government decided to lift the special advisory to all countries around the world, 2 years after it was issued due to Corona.

The Foreign Ministry of South Korea said in a statement carried out by the Korean News Agency that it is lifting the “special travel advisory” and amending it “travel alert” starting from tomorrow, Thursday.

This is due to the foundations of the government’s health ban policy and the world’s trends regarding COVID-19.

Under the decision, 22 countries, including Singapore, Canada, Australia, the Netherlands, and Guam, will be subjected to the first phase of the travel alert, and 129 countries, including the UK, Germany, and France will be subjected to the second phase of the travel alert.

26 countries, including China and Russia, will maintain a special travel advisory, the countries that are subject to the 3rd phase under the classification (recommended to leave) and the 4th phase (travel ban) remain at their current levels.

The ministry mentioned that it has taken a decision after reviewing various aspects such as the vaccination rate of COVID-19 vaccines, mutual recognition certificates, cooperation with safe countries for tourism through the travel bubble, procedures for the entry of foreigners for a short period, and others.
