A multinational team of Archaeologists has identified Wonderwerk Cave in South Africa’s Kalahari Desert as the world’s ancient and oldest home, according to RT.
In this regard, this great excavation seemed to prove and confirm that the theory that early humans were already occupying the site 2 million years ago.
When the researchers first arrived at the Wonderwerk Cave in the desert mountains of Kalahari in the Northern Cape Province, they hoped to learn what the environment was like there thousands of years ago. But the unexpected discovery of what they believe is an ancient projectile point led to a decade-long excavation that could rewrite the history of the first and early human being dynasties and earliest life on Earth.
In a statement by the scientists, they indicated that the human ancestors were making simple Oldowan stone tools inside the Wonderwerk Cave 1.8 million years ago.
It's worth mentioning that the cave also contains ancient stone tools such as hand axes, and the first evidence of early humans using fire, some one million years ago, as first mentioned in a 2012 study in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
