SMG offers the first natural gas truck locally

SMG, Scania Truck Agents, has introduced the all-new generation of the Swedish Scania XT truck locally, with two engines, one powered by natural gas and the other by diesel.

SMG is the first agent in Egypt to launch a truck equipped with natural gas fuel engine, The company introduced the new generation through 9 different categories, 3 of which are provided with a gas-powered engine that meets Euro 6 emission specifications, and the other 6 are powered by a diesel engine, with standard emissions of EUR 3.

The nine- categories cc capicty of the new generation from 9.3 liters to 16.35 liters, starting with 250 to 560 horsepower.

Ibrahim Ghattas, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company, said that the introduction of models working with natural gas comes within the SMG plan to provide the latest developments of the truck industry on the world stage.

He pointed out in a statement to the money to put diesel engine engines subject to the specifications of Euro 3 due to the type of fuel available in the local market.

Nazmi Wasef, General Manager of Scania Automotive Engineering, said the new generation was tested for 10 years at a distance of 2 million kilometers.
