Slovenia Detects 1st Case of Monkeypox

Slovenia announced the registration of the first case of monkeypox in the province of Bern.

The Food and Drug Administration has approved a new drug for monkeypox treatment, as cases of the rare virus have now been detected in 11 countries, including the U.S. and the UK.

On Thursday, the French Ministry of Health announced the detection of the first suspected case of monkeypox virus in the Paris/Ile-de-France region, amid indications that the virus is spreading around the world.

Noteworthy, Slovenia has reported its first monkeypox case, after Sweden, UK, Spain, Portugal, the United States, and Canada reported infections.

Italy has also reported a case, of a young adult who had recently returned from the Canary Islands.
