Sisi Urges Egyptians To Stick to Coronavirus Measures

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi constantly call for the work of national projects with the application of the highest levels of prevention and health care for site workers to preserve their safety, according to the official spokesperson of the Presidency Ambassador Bassam Rady.

Rady said on Sunday that President Sisi met with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli and Major General Amir Sayed Ahmed, Advisor to the President for Urban Planning.

The spokesman stated that the meeting dealt with the executive position on major national projects across the country in light of the implications of the novel coronavirus, as well as the developments of the government's plan to transfer ministries and various state agencies and institutions to the new administrative capital.

In this regard, the president directed the concerned authorities for continuous work and periodic follow-up of construction activities and projects in the administrative capital as well as major national projects implemented in the various governorates nationwide, with a commitment to apply the highest levels of prevention and the requirements of safety and health care to workers in sites.

On his part, the prime minister reviewed during the executive meeting the infrastructure for the new administrative capital, including roads and facilities, in addition to construction projects and major housing complexes, as well as the necessary infrastructure for the mechanization of ministries and government agencies in the capital in the context of the digital transformation of the state.

Last April, President Sisi met with Madbouly, and a number of ministers to follow up with the executive situation in the administrative capital. 

“The meeting touched on the executive situation of the current national projects of the Ministry of Transport, especially those related to the road network and axes, as well as mass transit projects for connecting the new administrative capital to the cities and neighborhoods of Greater Cairo, and projects of subway lines,” according to Rady.

Rady noted that President Sisi urged the government to continue with the efforts of constructing roads and pivots projects throughout the country, as well as the comprehensive modernization of the transportation system and the enhancement of the capabilities of this pivotal sector in a qualitative way.
