Sisi to Meet Trump on Sidelines of UNGA74

Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi is scheduled to meet his US counterpart Donald Trump in New York on the sidelines of the 74th session of the UN General Assembly UNGA74.

Egypt`s President Abdel Fataah Sisi met Sunday with the heads of the major American companies. During the meeting, they discussed ways of enhancing economic cooperation between the two countries.

The discussion held during a dinner banquet hosted by the American Chamber of Commerce in honor of the president.

The dinner was attended by the first Vice President of the American Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the American-Egyptian Business Council, and a large number of heads and leaders of major American companies.

On the other hand, Trump arrived in New York on Sunday night after his participation with Modi at the "Howdy Modi" event in Houston where the two leaders addressed over 50,000 Indian-Americans.

The UNGA74 is set to kick off on 24 September 2019 at the UN Headquarters in New York.

The theme of the general debate will be, ‘Galvanizing multilateral efforts for poverty eradication, quality education, climate action and inclusion.”

Egypt is participating in the session in the presence of El Sisi, carrying an agenda full of important international, regional and national issues.

The State Information Service SIS said that since El Sisi, assumed power in 2014, he was keen to regularly attend all meetings of the UN General Assembly, thus becoming the first Egyptian president to attend six consecutive summits of the UNGA.
