Sisi Stresses Importance of Establishing Attractive African Market

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi expressed Egypt's aspiration to build real partnerships among Africans, the United Kingdom and the international partners, which require cooperative frameworks that help in establishing future relations.

During his speech in the UK-Africa investment summit, Sisi stressed the importance of providing government investment guarantees for international companies, including the British ones, in a way that encourages the investors to pump direct investments in African countries.

The president also pointed out to the importance of working on enhancing trade exchanges, relying on common interests and opening British markets to African products.

In addition, Sisi stressed the need to establish an attractive African market for foreign investments, in addition to enhancing the role of the private sector to achieve development.

He said that he hopes that the outcomes of today’s meeting could meet the aspirations of “our peoples and open new horizons in African-British relations.”

The activities of the UK-Africa investment summit kicked off, on Monday, in the British capital London. The three-day summit aims at enhancing investment opportunities in Africa.

The platform is the largest annual investment event held for the eighth time outside Africa.

The summit brings together a large number of African and UK’s leaders, and international institutions as well as major African and British investors.

The participants’ list includes: President El Sisi, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, and others.

The summit discusses a number of key issues including; Sustainable financing, infrastructure, future joint investment plans, as well as trade and investment opportunities in the African continent, growth opportunities, and clean energy plans in Africa.
