President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received on Monday Anthony Blinken, Secretary of State of the United States of America, in the presence of Egyptian foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, and Chargé d’Affairs of the US Embassy in Cairo, Daniel Rubinstein, official spokesperson for the Presidency Ambassador Bassam Rady said.
He added that the President expressed his welcomed US Secretary of State, conveying his greetings to President "Joe Biden", stressing the extended strategic partnership relations between Egypt and the United States.
President Sisi also said that he is looking forward to enhancing coordination and consultation between the two sides on political, security and regional issues.
On his part, Blinken conveyed to the president the greetings of the US president, stressing that within the framework of the strategic relations between the two friendly countries, Washington is counting on close coordination with Egypt under the leadership of President Sisi to restore stability, achieve calm and contain the situation between the Palestinian and Israeli sides.
Rady revealed that in this context, the recent developments and events in the Palestinian territories were reviewed, aw well as the joint efforts and Egyptian endeavors to contain the escalating tension during the past days.
President Sisi also stressed that the developments of recent incidents confirm the importance of working immediately within the framework of the political and security tracks to contain the situation and prevent any unilateral measures from both sides, stressing Egypt's firm position to reach a just and comprehensive solution that guarantees the rights of the Palestinian people in accordance with international references, and in a way that solves that pivotal issue in the region and opens prospects for peace, stability, cooperation and construction.
