Sisi Receives Chevron Corp. Chairman in Cairo for Enhancing Co-op Talks

On Monday, Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi received Michael K. Wirth, the Chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Chevron Corporation, a petroleum research and exploration US Company

The meeting was attended by Eng. Tarek El-Molla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, and a number of senior officials at the company.

Ambassador Bassam Rady, the official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic, stated that President Sisi affirmed the state's full support for Chevron's activities in Egypt, especially in the field of oil research, exploration and production.

He added that the company has long experience in the activities and fields of the oil and gas industry globally, which pivotally supports the petroleum sector in Egypt, and contributes to maximizing the state’s benefit from its potential resources for the benefit of current and future generations.

On his part, the chief executive officer of Chevron Corporation expressed his appreciation for meeting President Sisi, as well as his pride in the company's activity and presence, which extends over decades in Egypt.

He also stressed the company's keenness to develop a strategic partnership with Egypt, in light the economic reforms achieved under the president's leadership in terms of economic growth and development boom.
