Sisi Praises Role of Police in Protecting Citizens, Homeland 

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi affirmed the great national responsibility of the police and its role in many vital tasks towards the state and the citizens.

He stressed the importance of taking into account these tasks within the framework of the criteria for selecting recruits applying to join the Police College.

He directed concerned officials to select the best elements capable of fulfilling those tasks and their requirements in an abstract and within a framework of impartiality and transparency.

This came during the President's visit paid this morning to the Police College, where he attended the tests for students applying to join the college for the new academic year.

Maj. Gen. Mahmoud Tawfiq, Minister of Interior, and a number of senior officials of the Police College welcomed the president.

During the President’s meeting with the senior officials of police, he referred to the importance of continuing to develop the capabilities of the Police College to ensure that it keeps pace with the latest modern sciences in the security, legal and social fields, to refine students' skills.

He also called for developing the physical and health aspects of police college cadets, as well as a comprehensive assessment of their awareness of various national security files.

The spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic, Bassam Radi, stated that the president discussed a number of applicants on some issues at the internal and external levels, and about their future aspirations to join the security apparatus and to participate in preserving the country's security, especially in light of the developments that have occurred in the field of security work during recent times.

In this context, an open dialogue took place between the president and the new students; he listened to the extent of students ’understanding of various internal issues in Egypt.

The discussion also extended to the great impact that resulted from the development of modern social media and how to use it correctly and effectively by young people.
