President Abdel Fattah El Sisi paid a visit to the Police Academy where he followed up the selection process of the new students applying to join the school. He admired the applicants' awareness and knowledge.

“President Sisi stressed importance of fine selection of distinguished applicants who can be capable of doing their duty sincerely,” said Presidential Spokesperson Bassam Rady on Saturday.

Minister of Interior Mahmoud Tawfik and a number of senior cadres of the Academy and the Interior Ministry were in the company of Sisi during his tour.

On his part, President Sisi expressed his happiness for the applicants’ awareness and sound knowledge, according to Rady.

“President Sisi touched their eagerness to join the Police Academy and be part of this security body.”

Sisi Stresses Objectivity is a Must

In this regard, the president stressed the importance of applying the objective and abstract criteria in selecting the Academy’s newcomers for the purpose of preparing a new generation able to face all types of challenges and perform their duties efficiently.

Almost all commissioned officers have to complete four years at the academy, located in Cairo. The Academy is a modern institution equipped with laboratory and physical-training facilities.

Graduates receive a bachelor of police studies degree and are commissioned first lieutenants.

Some police officers, especially the special operations officers, are well trained by the Egyptian Armed Forces.

In July, Sisi attended the graduation ceremony of a new batch of cadets at the Police Academy in Cairo.

During the ceremony, the president honored top students who will be granted medals of excellence of the second class in appreciation of their distinguished performance during their academic study.
