Sisi, Mitsotakis Discuss Energy, Eastern Mediterranean

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received Wednesday a phone call from Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, according to Presidency Spokesperson Bassam Rady.

Sisi and Mitsotakis discussed the close bilateral relations that bind the two countries in various fields, especially cooperation in the field of energy and eastern Mediterranean issues.

The Greek Prime Minister expressed his keenness to exchange views and tackle regional issues of common interest.

Mitsotakis stressed the importance of mutual coordination in this context, especially in the field of energy and the Eastern Mediterranean files, in a way that contributes to achieving the interests of the two friendly peoples, at the level bilateral level and within the framework of the tripartite cooperation mechanism between Egypt, Greece and Cyprus.

On his part, Sisi affirmed the strength and distinction of the relations between the two countries, and Egypt's pride in the aspects of cooperation with Greece and the positive development it is witnessing, especially in light of the coherence of interests and common positions between the two countries at the regional level.

"The president stressed Egypt's aspiration to advance various aspects of that constructive cooperation, especially in the economic and energy fields, as well as on the security and military level," Rady added.
