Sisi, Iraqi PM Hold Talks in Jeddah

Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi held talks on Saturday, with Iraqi Prime Minister (PM) Mustafa Al-Kadhimi in Jeddah, according to Presidential spokesman Bassam Rady.

At the outset of the meeting, Sisi affirmed on the Egyptian policy's firm constants, in support of Iraq and its people, whether at trilateral level with Jordan, or the bilateral level through the establishment of a strategic partnership between the two brotherly countries, based on integration and the achievement of common development goals.

In this regard, the Egyptian president underlined the importance of accelerating the process of implementing joint projects between Egypt and Iraq.

On his part, Al-Kadhimi expressed his appreciation for the Egyptian efforts, in support of the Iraqi issue at all levels, expressing aspiration to strengthen cooperation with Egypt, whether at the bilateral level or trilateral level with Jordan, to benefit from the inspiring Egyptian success experience, especially in the field of infrastructure and electric power.

Moreover, the Iraqi PM expressed his country's keenness to strengthen bilateral cooperation with Egypt in economic, commercial, and investment fields, praising the Egyptian supportive role, which represents a strategic depth for his country at the regional and international levels.
