President Abdel Fattah El Sisi attended on Tuesday the graduation ceremony of military academies’ cadets at the headquarters of the Egyptian Military Academy in Cairo.

Upon his arrival, El Sisi was received by Minister of Defence and Military Production Mohamed Zaki and Army Chief-of-Staff Mohamed Farid.

During the ceremony, the graduates performed part of the exercises and training they received while studying. They also stood in a formation in the shape of the number 47, to mark the 47th anniversary of Egypt's victory against Israel in the 6 October war.

Later, the military band performed a number of national songs.

The president granted the second-class medal of military duty to top students in recognition of their sincere efforts. The graduates took the oath of enlistment.

The graduation ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly, former interim-president Adly Mansour, heads of main branches of the armed forces, as well as a number of ministers and senior state officials.

The graduates were cadets at the Military Academy, the Air Defence Academy, the Naval Academy, the Military Technical College, and the Technical Institute for Military Forces.

Sisi word during the ceremony

During the ceremony, Sisi welcomed the families of the graduates, expressing his gratitude and appreciations towards those Egyptian families, who raised up their sons to love their country and defend it.

Moreover, he wished the military cadets and graduates success, praying to Almighty God to bless and protect them against any evil.

"The great army of Egypt is able to defend homeland against any aggressor," Sisi stressed, adding that defending the country and protecting its people is an 'honourable and great mission'.

Moreover, Egypt's head of state warned of the evil attempts to destabilize the state, underlining the importance of 'well awareness' as a priority to maintain 'our national security' during the upcoming phase.
