President Abdel Fattah El Sisi saluted Egyptians on Monday after the Panamanian container ship had been successfully refloated in the Suez Canal.

"Today, the Egyptians have succeeded in ending the crisis of the stranded ship in the Suez Canal despite the enormous technical complexity that surrounded this process from every side," Sisi tweeted.

He added that the Egyptians assured the entire world that the waterway of global goods and commodities is safe and the situation is normal at the moment at the Canal.

"I thank every loyal Egyptian who contributed technically and practically to ending this crisis," Sisi added.

Moreover, he noted that "the Egyptians have proven that they are always responsible, and that the Canal, their ancestors dug and defended, will continue to witness that the will of the Egyptian always goes where the Egyptians decide."

It's noteworthy that successful push and tow maneuvers led to the restoration of 80 percent of the Ever Green vessel’s direction; with the stern 102 m. away from the bank of the Canal now instead of 4 m. prior to the refloating.

Admiral Osama Rabie, Chairman and Managing Director of the Suez Canal Authority (SCA), has announced today, Monday, that the navigation shall be resumed immediately upon the complete restoration of the Panamanian container ship's direction and directing it to the Bitter Lakes waiting area for technical inspection.
