Sisi, French Economy Minister Discuss Cooperation

On Wednesday, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi held a meeting with Bruno Le Maire, France’s Minister of the Economy and Finance, according to the Presidency spokesman, Bassam Rady.

At the outset of the meeting, Le Maire praised the remarkable performance of the Egyptian economy during the current year as well as the growth rates and positive indicators it has achieved lately; a matter which reflects the successful economic and financial policies pursued by the Egyptian state under the wise leadership of President Sisi.

Moreover, the French minister pointed out the key role played by Egypt in laying the foundations of security and stability in the Middle East and Eastern Mediterranean regions, which reinforces France's keenness to maximize cooperation with the Egyptian government in various fields.

On his part, President Sisi affirmed the priority of the economic cooperation file between Cairo and Paris, expressing his aspiration to develop joint cooperation between both countries in various fields and advance it to broader and wider horizons, especially in terms of localizing industry, transfer of technology and ancient French expertise.

It is worth mentioning that, the Egyptian President arrived in France on Sunday, at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron.

On Monday, the Egyptian president held two-hour talks with Macron and discussed several issues of common interests, regional files, and bilateral relations.
