Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi said that the state has constructed 22 new bridges over the last six months, to solve traffic congestion.

In his word during the inauguration of the Mostord refinery on Sunday, Sisi added that the state has spent a total of EGP 380 billion over 7 years to develop the capital, Cairo.

In addition, the president has hit back at the 'evil conspirators' who always try to raise doubts among Egyptians about what is being implemented and accomplished by the state on the ground.

"I have always bet on the Egyptian people and their awareness, and I won the bet," Sisi confirmed, adding that awareness is 'our weapon' against the war of chaos and destructive calls.

Moreover, the president stressed that the state is moving steadily towards development, reform, and construction.

"Despite the harshness of the economic reform measures, the Egyptian was able to achieve many signs of progress praised by the whole world," he added.

It is worth mentioning that, El Sisi inaugurated on Sunday the Mostorod refinery, located in eastern Cairo, in the presence of the Minister of Oil and Petroleum and a number of high-level officials, according to Presidency Spokesperson Bassam Rady.

The Mostorod refinery is situated near Cairo and is already one of Egypt’s largest refineries, with a throughput of 142,000 barrels per day (bpd).

As part of an ongoing programme by the Egyptian Government to increase the oil-processing capacity of the country, the site is now being developed with a further refinery being constructed adjacent to it (the Citadel refinery).
